SENSEX, NIFTY50 off day’s highs; Dixon Tech, Bharat Electronics, KPR Mills, Tejas Networks among buzzing stocks

Here are buzzing stocks in trade on Wednesday: Dixon Technologies: Shares of Dixon Technologies fell sharply lower on account of profit booking on Wednesday, May 21 after its January-March quarter earnings failed to enthuse investors. Dixon Technologies shares fell as much as 7.82% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) to hit an intraday low of ₹15,270. On the BSE, stock fell as much as 7.81%. Shares of the Noida-based company came under intense selling pressure after its net profit, which surged four times in fourth quarter of financial year 2024-25, came on the back of an exceptional gain of ₹250 crore arising from sale of AIL Dixon Technologies Private Limited shares to Aditya Infotech Limited. Dixon Technologies reported consolidated net profit of ₹401 crore in January-March quarter, marking an increase of four times or 321% from ₹95 crore in the same period last year. The sharp jump in profit came on account of an exceptional item of ₹250 crore arising from sale of AIL Dixon Technologies Private Limited shares to Aditya Infotech Limited. Bharat Electronics: Shares of the defence equipment maker rose as much as 4.45% to hit fresh 52-week high of ₹379.90 after the company in its conference call said that it expects orders worth ₹27,000 crore in current financial year. Meanwhile, the company reported a net profit of ₹2,127 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q4 FY25), marking an increase of 18% from ₹1,797 crore logged during the same period last year. Its revenue from operations rose 7% to ₹9,150 crore as against ₹8,564 crore seen in the year-ago period. The Bengaluru-based company posted a strong operational performance in Q4 as its operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), rose 23% to ₹2,816 crore and its EBITDA margin improved by 410 basis points to 30.8% from 26.71%. NHPC: Shares of NHPC, the public sector hydropower company, were trading 0.44% higher at ₹86.98 apiece on the BSE in the early trade on Wednesday, May 21, following the company's Q4 results announcement. The PSU on Tuesday reported a 52% growth in its consolidated net profit to ₹919.63 crore in the March quarter (Q4 FY25) on the back of higher income. It posted a net profit of ₹605 crore in the January-March period of the preceding 2023-24 fiscal, the company said in an exchange filing. KPR Mill: Shares of the textile maker tumbled over 7% on Wednesday, May 21, as almost 1.09 crore shares, representing nearly 3.2% equity in the company, exchanged hands in two block deals. According to a CNBC-TV18 report, the company’s promoters, Chairman KP Ramasamy and Managing Directors KPD Sigamani and P Nataraj, are likely the sellers. A May 20 report by CNBC-TV18 also stated that the three promoters of KPR Mill are likely to sell up to 3.2% of their stake in the textile company via block deals to raise up to ₹1,195.6 crore. The floor price for the transaction had been set at ₹1,107 per share. United Spirits: Shares of the liquor maker fell as much as 3.52% to hit an intraday low of ₹1,502.60 on the BSE despite reporting steady earnings in March quarter. United Spirits on Tuesday reported a 75% jump in consolidated net profit at ₹421 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025. The company had posted a net profit of ₹241 crore for the corresponding quarter previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations stood at ₹6,634 crore as against ₹6,511 crore in the year-ago period. USL’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 37.7% to ₹460 crore year-on-year, while the operating margins improved to 15.2% from 12% a year ago. Tejas Networks: Shares of Tejas Networks gained almost 5% on Wednesday, May 21, after the Tata-backed firm bagged an add-on Advance Purchase Order from BSNL for the supply, deployment and maintenance of a 4G mobile network at 18,685 sites. “Further to our communication dated August 16, 2023, and in pursuance of the Master Contract between Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) and Tejas Networks Limited (Tejas or Company) for supply of goods and/or services for the BSNL 4G Project, TCS has informed the Company that it has received an add-on Advance Purchase Order from BSNL,” Tejas said in a statement to the stock exchanges.
