Top gainers and losers, September 10: Bharat Electronics, Wipro, HCL Tech shares rise over 2.6%; check full details

Bharat Electronics was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 4.58% to close at ₹389 after the company post market hours said that the dividend of 90 paise per share will be paid to eligible shareholders on September 23. The Indian equity benchmarks gained for third straight session on Wednesday, September 10, led by gains in index heavyweights like Infosys, Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharat Electronics and Bajaj Finance. The SENSEX rose as much as 543 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 25,035.70. The SENSEX ended 324 points to close at 81,425 and NIFTY50 index advanced 105 points to close at 24,973. NIFTY50 top gainers and losers Bharat Electronics was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 4.58% to close at ₹389 after the company post market hours said that the dividend of 90 paise per share will be paid to eligible shareholders on September 23. Wipro (2.63%), HCL Technologies (2.6%), HDFC Life (2.21%) and Bajaj Finance (2.01%) were also among the gainers. On the flipside, Mahindra & Mahindra was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.36% to close at ₹3,609 on account of profit booking in auto stocks after a stellar rally after GST rate cut announcement. Bajaj Auto (-1.60%), Maruti Suzuki (-1.50%), Hero MotoCorp (-1.45%) and Eicher Motors (-0.81%) were also among the laggards. NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.93% or 535 points to close at 57,999.55. As many as 71 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 29 closed lower. Oracle Financial Services Software was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock surged 10.54% to close at ₹9,300 after its parent firm, Oracle Corporation, posted better-than-expected earnings. Oracle reported a 12% rise in revenue to $14.9 billion for the quarter ending August 31, up from $13.3 billion in the same period last year. However, the company’s net income remained largely unchanged at $2.93 billion, or $1.01 per share, compared to $2.93 billion, or $1.03 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Oracle had signed four multi-billion-dollar contracts with three different customers in the first quarter, contributing to the revenue increase. Waaree Energies (6.29%), Persistent Systems (5.51%), Bharat Dynamics (5.48%) and Tata Elxsi (5.45%) were also among the gainers. On the other hand, BSE was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 3.45% to close at ₹2,272. MRF (-2.69%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (-2.34%), Escorts Kubota (-2.26%) and Supreme Industries (-2.02%) were also among the losers. NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.73% or 130 points to close at 17,875. As many as 75 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher while 24 closed lower. Welspun Living was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 8.36% to close at ₹123.80 mirroring gains in other textile importing shares on hopes that higher tariff announced by United States could come down going ahead. The US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that India and US will resume trade talks to address trade barriers between the two nations. "I am pleased to announce that India and the United States of America are continuing negotiations to address the Trade Barriers between our two Nations. I look forward to speaking with my very good friend, Prime Minister Modi, in the upcoming weeks. I feel certain that there will be no difficulty in coming to a successful conclusion for both of our Great Countries!," Trump wrote on his social media platform TruthSocial. He added he was confident in reaching “a successful conclusion for both of our Great Countries.” International Gemmological Institute (7.23%), Zensar Technologies (5.85%), Zen Technologies (4.99%) and Poonawalla Fincorp (4.34%) were also among the gainers. On the contrary, Brainbees Solutions (-4.70%), Inventurus Knowledge Solutions (-2.26%), Affle India (-1.46%), Action Construction Equipment (-1.35%) and Godfrey Philips (-1.24%) were losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
